Instructions

  • Prepare a baking sheet or a medium-sized plate by lining it with parchment paper and setting it aside.
  • Put three tablespoons of sugar, water, butter, cinnamon, and salt into a small skillet. It is important to save half a tablespoon of the sugar for later use.
  • When you see bubbles beginning to form around the edges, place the dish over medium heat and continue to cook it while stirring it occasionally.
  • You should continue to cook the mixture while stirring it constantly until almost all of the liquid evaporates and it comes together. Add the almonds and the vanilla extract.
  • Take the pan off the heat as quickly as possible, sprinkle the remaining half tablespoon of sugar on top, give it a quick stir, and then immediately transfer it to the parchment paper, making sure to separate the ingredients as much as possible.
  • After they have completely cooled, break apart any nuts that are still sticking together and store them in a container that is airtight.
