Ryuma's Epic Story Creates Another Great Storyteller

At 19, many people are still discovering who they are and what they want to do. But mangaka Eiichiro Oda seemed to disagree.

With Monsters and Romance Dawn, which inspired One Piece, Oda showed his visual and storytelling skills early on. The author improved throughout One Piece.

But Ryuma's tale has also succeeded in showcasing the abilities of another creator, this time in the form of animation director Park Sung-Hoo.

2024 Netflix Monsters: 103 Mercies 25-minute Dragon Damnation cartoon. First major animation project for Park Sung-Hoo's E&H Production. Animation and presentation hide monsters.

Comedy, drama, and action are well-portrayed, especially at the special's finale. The fantastic tune by Hiroaki Tsutsumi and stunning impact frames enhanced dramatic attacks for epic combat.

Still, the thirty-year-old story feels like it lost opportunities to treat millions of One Piece fans worldwide.
