Knives Out 3 Gets First Major Filming Update

Knives Out 3 resumes production after months. Netflix bought two Knives Out sequels for $469 million. Rian Johnson's 2022 standalone Agatha Christie-inspired mystery Glass Onion stars Daniel Craig's brilliant southern detective.

Johnson announced last October that he had resumed writing the threequel's script after the 2023 writers strike.

Deadline reports Craig will play Benoit Blanc in Knives Out 3 later this year. Johnson and Bergman's T-Street partners included producer Katie McNeill.

Game of Thrones and True Blood's David Benioff, Dan Weiss, and Alexander Woo directed Netflix's 3 Body Problem, which Johnson's T-Street will release.

Christie created Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, and Johnson has other determined mystery solvers.

The Knives Out director premiered his “howcatchem” mystery show Poker Face in January, starring Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a former casino worker who can spot lies.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Lyonne briefly appeared in Glass Onion in 2022 before Poker Face's season 1 premiere. After this brief appearance, many suspected Craig's Benoit Blanc and Lyonne's Charlie Cale would work together.

Johnson said Lyonne's Glass Onion cameo was her playing herself on Poker Face, suggesting Knives Out is set there. Blanc knows Charlie but may never meet her.
