Baked French Toast Recipe

My sister-in-law offered me this baked French toast recipe. My brother and she opened wedding gifts. I always cook it for guests, who like it. Add pecans if desired.

– 1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, cut diagonally in 1 inch slice – 8 large egg – 2 cups milk – 1 ½ cups half-and-half cream – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon – ¾ cup butter – 1 ⅓ cups brown sugar – 3 tablespoons light corn syrup

Prepare a baking dish measuring 9 by 13 inches by buttering it and topping it with slices of bread.
