INGREDIENTS

– 2 ½ lbs. chicken wings, cut into drumettes and wingettes– 1 Tbsp baking powder– ½ tsp paprika– ½ tsp garlic powder– ¾ tsp salt, divided– ¾ tsp pepper, divided– 2 cups apple cider– ¼ cup apple cider vinegar– 2 Tbsp honey– ¼ tsp cinnamon– Apple slices, for garnish– Chopped chives or scallion

Step 1

Heat the oven to 450°F. Use foil and a wire rack on a baking sheet. Apply cooking spray to the rack. Chicken wings can be dried with paper towels. Put in large bowl.

Mix baking powder, paprika, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle baking powder on chicken wings and coat.

Spacing the wings on the wire rack is smart. Set the oven to 300°F. After baking, toss the wings. Return the wings to the oven for 15–20 minutes to crisp and brown.

Heat honey, apple cider vinegar, and cider in a medium saucepan on medium-high. Bake the wings while you do this. Add cinnamon, remaining ¼ tsp salt, and remaining ¼ tsp pepper.

Bring to boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 25 minutes to thin and thicken the sauce.

Place baked chicken wings in a large bowl. Combine apple cider sauce. Serve wings on a platter with any remaining bowl sauce. Add apple slices and chives/scallions.
