(KWQC) – Wheatland, Iowa (KWQC) In the vicinity, a corn crib was on fire, and a family of five was sleeping.
At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, the fire was reported to the 911 center in Clinton County. The property is located around three miles to the north of Wheatland.
The corn crib was completely engulfed in flames when a deputy from the sheriff’s office arrived.
When the deputy, the person who called 911, and a member of the family arrived at the property, they entered the house and woke up the family that was sleeping inside.
Outside, assistance was provided to three children and two adults; absolutely no one was hurt.
Wheatland Ambulance, Lowden Fire, and Lost Nation Fire all provided assistance to Wheatland Fire while they were investigating the incident.
Wheatland Fire and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office are both conducting investigations into the fire being investigated.
