WWE hired comic book and fantasy artist Joe Jusko to design two of its most famous Royal Rumble posters in the early 1990s. Rumble season leads to Wrestlemania. Note Jusko's 1991 and 1992 comic book posters.

WWE wrestlers of this era were intentionally reminiscent of superheroes with their gaudy outfits and penchant for fighting, which Jusko intuitively recognizes and emphasizes in his iconic poster using his fantasy and comic book background.
