On the book, Florence Pugh's Dune 2 role is improving after 59 years

Florence Pugh's Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Two seems to improve on Frank Herbert's character 59 years later.

Pugh's Dune 2 debut is thrilling for many reasons. Pugh is beloved for playing Marvel's Yelena Belova, Little Women's Amy March, and Midsommar's Dani.

Pugh's Dune role will elevate her book, along with her best film performances. Good thing Dune 2's approach and Pugh's acting will distinguish Princess Irulan from Herbert.

The 1965 novel Dune doesn't give Princess Irulan a personality or role, despite her conflicted nature and intriguing story. As royalty and Bene Gesserit, Princess Irulan's story should be captivating.

Although her royal ties complicate her order involvement, they give her extraordinary abilities. Her conflicting interests make her great. Herbert's book hesitates. Princess Irulan is inactive but a possibility.

Princess Irulan in previous Dune adaptations doesn't improve Herbert's work. The 1984 Dune character played by Virginia Madsen isn't much more developed or active.

Dune's early 2000s miniseries portrays Princess Irulan better but gives her little to do. Pugh's Dune: Part Two acting can enhance her story and character.

Dune 2 compensates for Herbert's Princess Irulan-less novel. Pugh appears to play a stronger role in Dune 2 trailers and promotional images than in the book.

Villeneuve's adaptation might prioritize the princess given Pugh's stardom. The character appears to be in the action in early Dune 2 footage, which should lead to a larger role in the plot.

On the book, Florence Pugh's Dune 2 role is improving after 59 years

Pugh's Dune role will elevate her book, along with her best film performances. Good thing Dune 2's approach and Pugh's acting will distinguish Princess Irulan from Herbert.

The 1965 novel Dune doesn't give Princess Irulan a personality or role, despite her conflicted nature and intriguing story. As royalty and Bene Gesserit, Princess Irulan's story should be captivating.
