Hawaiian Roll French Toast Recipe

Try Hawaiian rolls instead of bread or brioche for french toast. This Hawaiian Roll French Toast will enhance weekend brunches with its flavor!

INGREDIENTS

━━━━━━━━━━━━

– 4 large egg – ½ cup milk – 1 Tbsp vanilla extract – ½ tsp ground cinnamon – ¼ tsp salt – ⅛ tsp nutmeg – 2 Tbsp unsalted butter – 12 Hawaiian Rolls, sliced horizontally  – Confectioners' sugar, optional for serving – Maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Brush 1 Tbsp butter on a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Work in batches, dip Hawaiian roll halves in egg/milk mixture until saturated and shake off excess liquid before placing on griddle.

Step 3

━━━━━━━━━━━

Cook 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Turn and cook for 2-3 more minutes.

Step 4

━━━━━━━━━━━

Transfer to a plate and keep warm while cooking the remaining rolls. Dip and toast all rolls on griddle, adding butter as needed.

Step 5

Powdered sugar and maple syrup can be added to Hawaiian roll french toast before serving.
