French Toast BLTs Recipe

Be inspired to wake up by these French Toast BLTs! Before serving, pour maple syrup over challah or brioche french toast, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg!

INGREDIENTS

– 6 slices bacon – 1 tsp cracked black pepper – ½ tsp ground fenugreek (optional) – 4 large eggs, divided – ½ cup whole milk – 1 tsp vanilla extract – ¼ tsp ground cinnamon – 4 slices challah or brioche bread – 2 Tbsp unsalted butter – 1 large tomato, sliced into round – 4 large lettuce leave – Maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1

Sprinkle half the pepper and fenugreek on bacon on a griddle or pan over low heat. After a few minutes, flip bacon and add remaining pepper and fenugreek. Continue cooking until crispy.

Step 2

Use a medium bowl to lightly whisk 2 eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Coat each slice of bread in the mixture.

Step 3

Cook bread in melted butter on a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until well-browned. Place on a plate or in a low oven to warm later.

Step 4

Fry the remaining two eggs to your liking in a small nonstick pan. 

Step 5

━━━━━━━━━━━

Sandwich: layer lettuce, tomato, bacon, and egg on one french toast slice and top with another. Top with maple syrup.
