– 12 ounces fresh cranberrie – 1 Granny Smith apple – ½ cup light brown sugar – 1 tablespoon grated orange zest – ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice – 1 ⅙ teaspoons ground cinnamon divided – 2 extra-large egg – 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar – ¼ pound 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – ¼ cup sour cream – 1 cup all-purpose flour – ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Heat the oven to 325°F. Mix the cranberries, apple, brown sugar, orange zest, juice, and teaspoon of cinnamon in a medium bowl. Set aside.

For 2 minutes, beat eggs in a paddle-attached electric mixer bowl on medium-high speed. Combine 1 cup sugar, butter, vanilla, and sour cream on medium speed.

Turn mixer to low and slowly add flour and salt. Put cranberries in a 10-inch glass pie plate or casserole dish. Cover fruit mixture with batter.

Cover the fruit evenly. Completely cover the fruit with batter. Mix the remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon. Cover batter evenly.
