Breakfast Sausage Casserole Recipe

On Christmas morning, my mom made this sausage breakfast casserole, which everyone loves. It's beefy, cheesy, and delicious.

– 1 pound ground pork sausage – 1 teaspoon mustard powder – ½ teaspoon salt – 4 large eggs, beaten – 2 cups milk – 6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cube – 8 ounces mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

In a medium-sized skillet, crumble the sausage. Cook until uniformly browned over medium heat; then drain.

Mix mustard powder, salt, eggs, and milk in a medium bowl. Add sausage, bread cubes, and cheese and mix well.

Fill a 9 by 13-inch baking dish with oil. Place a cover on it and refrigerate for eight hours or overnight.

Set oven temperature to 350 F (175 C). Bake, covered, for 45 to 60 minutes.

Remove the top and lower the temperature to 325 F (165 C). Bake for a further half hour, or until done.
