Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and lightly oil a doughnut pan.Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt in a large bowl.

Whisk eggs lightly in a smaller bowl. Mix buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir the wet and dry ingredients until just combined to avoid tough donuts.

Pour batter into doughnut pans to ¾ full. Squeezing batter into a doughnut pan requires cutting the corner of a plastic bag.
