Debra has formed a new band The Smokin' Aces with top of the line Los Angeles players. They are playing at The Derby on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 from 9:00-12:00. For the past year, Debra has been singing blues, jazz, and swing with Swing Syndicate at Lunaria Restaurant & Jazz Bar on 10351 Santa Monica Blvd.

Angels, fronted by Debra Watson of Austin, Texas has played in such clubs
as Rusty's Surf Ranch in Santa Monica, Culver City Saloon, Club Sirius
in L.A. (now The Joint) and Q's Riverbottom in Burbank. Their music is
a sweet blend of southern blues, rock, rockabilly, and country.
Debra has been influenced by LouAnn Barton, Marcia Ball, Toni Price, Barbara
Lynn, Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Delbert McClinton and numerous jazz singers.
She has been a guest vocalist (blues, jazz, swing) with the late great
J.J. Bad Boys Jones, Flat Top Tom & His Jumpcats, Erik Estrand, Hollywood
Combo, Mark Tortorici & the Torchlighters ,Swing Syndicate, Swing
Kings, Jump Jones, William "Soul" Porter, and many others at
Harvelles, The Derby, Barfly, Marina City Club, Gene Autry Museum, The
Atlas, Bicycle Club, Tony P's, Susie Q's, The Forbidden City, Lunaria,
Culver City Hotel, Pig 'n Whistle, and San Genero. She has also sat in
with many other musician friends of hers at Harvelles, Culver City Saloon,
Moonshadows, World Cafe, the Improv on Melrose, the Cinema, Residuals
and numerous other Venues in Los Angeles as well as such clubs as The
Speakeasy, Carlos and Charlies, and Liberty Lunch in Austin, Texas.
